Position Overview

We are seeking a Part-Time Social Worker to provide direct support to individuals and families in our community. The Social Worker will deliver culturally informed services, assist clients in navigating community resources, and support positive outcomes for youth and families.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide case management, counseling, and advocacy to individuals and families.

• Conduct assessments, develop individualized support plans, and monitor progress.

• Assist clients with settlement, housing, employment, family conflict, and mental health needs.

• Make referrals and provide navigation support to community programs and government services.

• Maintain accurate and confidential case files and documentation.

• Collaborate with community partners and SCSC staff to enhance client support.

• Contribute to program development and community outreach initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (BSW) required; MSW is an asset.

• Must be a registered member in good standing with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

• Must speak fluent Somali and English.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in social work, preferably with immigrant, refugee, or youth-serving organizations.

• Strong knowledge of Calgary’s community resources and support systems.

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently with professionalism and integrity.

• Cultural awareness and sensitivity when working with diverse communities.

Hours

• Part-time, approximately [10–20] hours per week with flexible scheduling.

Compensation

• $38 per hour.
